FAQ
| When I click on the link, the 'File Download' box pops opens up. What's wrong? |
Install or re-install JAVA. Got to www.java.com for instructions on
installing Java (it's totally free). If you continue to get problems, there is a useful page here; Java Web Start Help
|
| It still wont start? |
Hold down ctrl when clicking these links is just to make sure that you get the latest copy the page |
| IT STILL WONT START!!! |
Try switching browsers. Install FireFox from here
|
| What is an IP Address? |
It's
four numbers linked by a dot (e.g. 123.342.434.2) that uniquely
identifies your machine on the internet. It allows one networkslime
player to connect to another
|
| How do I get the IP address of my machine? |
Go to the following website; What Is My IP Address
|
| Why can't I connect to the server? I am sure I have the right IP |
Probably because your firewall or modem is preventing you. You need to bust a
hole through that firewall or open up a port.
|
| Can you play soccer slime or slime boxing online? |
Not yet, but Basketball is coming soon |
| How do you turn off a firewall? My friend puts in my IP adress while i host
it... then he gets this thing that says he has a firewall or
whatever... how do u turn it off? |
The firewall prevents hackers from connecting to your PC and doing bad things. You
can either shut it down, or you can configure it to allow the network
slime traffic through. I have a firewall called Zone-Alarm. ZoneAlarm
has icon in the system tray. You right mouse click on it and select
exit to switch it off. Configuring it is harder; you have to create a
rule which allows 'UDP traffic on port 2000'. If this means nothing to
you then you are going to have to ask someone to help. Without access
to your PC, I can't really help any more.
